The Wheels on the Truck

Well ive just kept my head down and got on with some serious grafting over the last few weeks, pretty much the same, each trip a load of Prince Edward Island Finest Spuds down to the New Jersey area, then a load of Chile's wonder grapes back up to the Toronto area, then whatever we can haul back east to finish of this triangle work.Well this one has been done in record time even though we are still recording some pretty awfull weather even though the clocks go forward in a couple of weeks for the start of spring the temps are still in the BRRRRRRR minus's and the snow really doesn't look like departing from these shores anytime soon.Anyway forget all that the big news is LadyPens all packed and ready to grace us with her presence, she arrives midnight Wednesday so happy days are upon once more.We plan to get a load down to Newark then take a few days off in the Big Apple as i did with The Fresh Prince.

The Year that was !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive just been going through my logs in preparation of claiming my tax back.I was finally aloud to hit the the North American Highways on my own on 30th January.I spent a total of 228 nights out of which 131 were spent in Canada and 97 were spent in the USA.My total paid mileage was 101,243, i had 6 full days off in March then 6 full weeks off in August/Sept and i packed up for christmas on the 17th December not to mention other times i took 3/4 days off so the mileage i think isn't to bad im not going to be a millionaire but it will suffice.I had only 2 breakdowns both were on the trailers 1 costing me about 2 hours while the maxi can was changed, and 1 that cost me about 5 hours while the airbag was replaced, although i had countles problems at other times i either seemd to get the truck back to PEI or i managed to sort the problem out myself. It was definately a learning curve and i got to see many a great place New York definately comes top of that list, although i got to run west in Canada i wouldn't be to fussed if i never had to drive over that way again,i prefer the USA ive gone full circle from not really bothered if i didn't drive down there to wanting to see more and more, i love it there, i love the history, the patriotism the driving is far easier and alot more interesting there seems to be far much more on offer where ever you drive it definately pushes all my buttons. So with 34 States visited it all depends on whether we get jobs to cover the others,if not maybe a little roadtrip or two on a bike to cover the rest.
